Praise Party is about an African marriage in crises. The husband, Tobe Thompson, is emotionally abusive, enabled by his irrational mother Mrs. Munachimso Thompson, who perverted justice. The wife, Zara, bears the brunt of the toxicity; experiences a nervous breakdown, even as the couple grapple with infertility, bankruptcy, separation, trauma, and finding answers to life’s vicissitudes.
