A Private Membership Association
Everyone must be a member or an invited drop-in guest to use the facility.
Space Central is a member-driven mutual support community where the facility rent is collectively paid by the members for the benefit of the members. Space Central will handle the collection from each member by auto-billing to a credit card, and we will handle the lease payment to the landlord.
As a private membership association and mutual support group, we carefully vet and interview all potential guests to see if we would have a mutually beneficial working relationship within this unique innovation hub. We don't just want members; we want the right ones who can add value to the club, bring a positive attitude, and have the correct mindset to succeed.

All memberships options are now active. We currently occupy two offices with room for 17 people to work at one time. We also a large social room space that is now open to all except the virtual members. The production studio is bookable by all members and guests, and will take priority when scheduled for a filming event.
As we continue to expand, small office spaces will be made available on a drop-in basis to all members except the Virtual and Social Club levels. Tiers 1-4 and Corporate Sponsor members enjoy full access to the private offices.
Note: Everyone except Networking Only members must subscribe to both the Annual Facility Fee AND a membership plan to get started.
Memberships are month-to-month with the option to subscribe to any rate protected membership plan with a minimum commitment of a 1-year term. There will be options for 2 and 5 year terms at 5% and 10% monthly discounts respectively. Prepaid one year term members will receive 7.5% off their annual dues. All Memberships renew automatically at the same terms until cancelled with 30 days' written notice.
Member Bonus: We are developing a member's-only digital Creator's Archive and repository of creative content for the exclusive reference and use of the Space Central entrepreneurial community. Visit the Member Resources tab here.
During our initial soft launch phase, members will be able to use any available amenities. Members may attend any non-private event using their coupon code to waive the usual $5-$10 cover charge. Guests are welcome to attend with a member and may be invited to subscribe to a membership as well. Guest cover charges may be applied to any membership within 30 days of first attendance.
NEW: Profit Sharing Program.
We are introducing a revenue-sharing program where all members will participate in a pro-rated share of revenues generated within the facility from business activity that occurs within the facility. Space Central and various business ventures within the society will be contributing to this profit-sharing pool for the benefit of all. One of these programs will be the Joint Venture Revenue Participation (JVRP) pool which will allow members to participate in the direct revenue of several unique business ventures. Third Party Affiliations:
We are currently coordinating with other groups such as YYC Rocks to jointly acquire additional suitable shared space. Until we have secured additional space, amenities may be on a limited basis until enough memberships are sold to justify more leased space. In order to secure a long-term lease at a large location, we are fundraising now to secure the security deposit and the first month's rent, as well as for ongoing occupancy. Once we reach approximately 100-200 new membership subscriptions, we will be in a better financial position to complete a lease option on an entire building. Until then, we will expand as needed within our existing space.
We are always seeking government grants, corporate sponsors, and private donations to augment the membership drive. These could accelerate our official launch initiatives when successful.
To join Space Central, everyone at the Virtual Freedom level and above must pay the annual membership and facility admin fee which is used towards overall facility improvements, administrative costs, referral fees, platform fees, website maintenance, and ongoing marketing.
This non-refundable fee is required of ALL members upon joining EXCEPT the Networking Only plan* and is auto-renewed annually until cancelled. Note: 30 days' notice is required to cancel the autorenewal of this annual fee.

20% of the above Membership Fees are shared with the Members*
* Similarly to a cooperative, once the rent and operating costs have been covered by the collective membership fees, we share the profits back to the loyal members in the form of a collective profit-sharing pool. 10%-20% of the excess collected membership fees are invested into a growing bullion bank at a secured, fully-insured, Calgary-based Brinks storage facility which will be used to collateralize our own private banking system capable of granting emergency food supplies, fee assistance, loans, lines of credit, and even mortgages once the fund grows large enough. "Dividends" may be redistributed pro-rata to long-term loyal members each year based on their cumulative expenditures within the community.
Note: To qualify for profit-sharing, members must be with us for 12 continuous months to receive the annual dividend allocation.
The Fine Print
~ Boardroom is bookable at $50/hr non-members; $0-$50 for members subject to the restrictions for each membership level.
* Studio recording and production time is available in the ThoughtWurx Studios at the full studio standard rate of only $500/hr for all non-members (the industry average is $1500 - $2500 per hour for a crew of 3 cameramen, sound technician, lighting, and producer). Single camera rates and post-production services start at only $100/hr. On-location recording is available at $100/hr per camera angle required (includes trained operator and lighting).
The Podcast Room where available can be booked at only $50/hr. Members receive hourly discounts according to their membership level.
^Social Room is bookable at $5-$10 per guest (minimum $250 for non-profits and political meetings by ticket or donation, and daytime half day rentals for corporate workshops; minimum $500 for all other events). Registration is booked on Eventbrite or this site for all events.
Other participating merchants will have their own member discounts as described in their vendor profiles.
Generally, our member vendors are encouraged to give 5-50% discounts to Space Central members based on their membership level. See the comparison table for more info.
Members who co-create and generate business within some sites may be required to complete a revenue sharing agreement for the privilege of using any Class A office space housing the technology / innovation hub, and to encourage collaboration on the overall business incubator vision of select facilities.
